question

01

Why did you join the company?

I have a strong memory of a factory tour I went on in junior high school, and later I realized that the factory was Light Koki. As I researched the company further, I was drawn to the fact that it takes on the global market from my hometown of Suwa and is deeply committed to manufacturing everything in-house, from start to finish.
That dedication to craftsmanship is what led me to decide to join the company.

question

02

What kind of work are you currently doing?

I work in the rifle scope assembly department, where I am mainly responsible for production control.
I check parts schedules and make adjustments to ensure smooth production, coordinating people and processes so that products are completed and ready for shipment on time.
When issues or defects occur, I identify the root causes and work to prevent the same problems from happening again. At times, I also step into delayed processes myself to improve workflow and keep production moving smoothly on a daily basis.

question

03

Please tell me your daily schedule.

When I arrive at work, I first check to see if there are any delayed parts and, if there are, confirm when they are expected to arrive.

After that, I speak with the supervisors of each process to review yesterday’s progress and discuss the plan for the day.

I then work on the production floor while also checking and overseeing the work of temporary staff.

I feel reassured knowing that I am always working while checking the on-site situation together with my supervisors.

question

04

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I believe my role is to organize production and complete the required number of products according to the schedule.
To achieve this, I work together with both full-time and temporary staff. There are times when the schedule is tight, but when we manage to ship the products on time, it makes me feel that all the effort was worthwhile.
Seeing customers actually use our products and hearing positive feedback gives me a strong sense of motivation, and it inspires me to continue delivering high-quality products without compromise.

question

05

Are you proud of LIGHT Optical Works, Ltd.

I believe our strength lies in the fact that many rifle scope manufacturers from around the world entrust their products to Light Koki.
All of our employees work together, carefully handling everything from material procurement to machining and final assembly, crafting each scope by hand.
This hands-on, end-to-end approach is what builds trust with our customers.
